Roberto Coin Collections

These unusual, handcrafted Chinese works of art date back more than 250 years and were once gambling chips. They were exquisitely crafted from the oyster shell during the Ching Dynasty. Very fashionable at the time, many of the Mother of Pearl counters were custom made at the request of British royalty and nobility, bearing family crests or initials on one side. Approximately 100 years ago these Chinese works of art were transported to England. They are now being rediscovered and appreciated for their exquisite beauty.
